Full emergency at Delhi airport after fumes detected on Moscow-bound flight

NEW DELHI: A full emergency was declared at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International ( IGI ) Airport on Tuesday after fumes were detected inside the cabin of an Aeroflot flight travelling from Bangkok to Moscow , airport sources said.

The incident took place around 3:50pm when the flight crew reported the presence of fumes and alerted air traffic control, requesting an emergency landing .

The aircraft, carrying 425 passengers, landed safely without any incident.

Emergency protocols were promptly activated at the airport to ensure a secure landing.

A thorough safety inspection of the aircraft is currently underway. Further details are awaited.
