How to use a Launcher as a melee weapon in Black Ops 6

Send Push
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 marked a new chapter for the franchise. It introduced a lot of new franchise first features and also scrapped many familiar aspects of this long standing series. For example: the game features a completely new movement mechanic called Omni-movement. With this movement scheme, you can slide in any direction you want, even backwards.

Although there is one change that made the fans disappointed is the ability to melee enemies with any weapon. However, with a newly released perk, you can now melee with any weapon you want, even with a freaking Launcher.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 - How to use a Launcher as a melee weapon

Before Black Ops 6, you could melee attack your enemies with any weapon in your hand, be it the primary weapon or the secondary weapon. But that changed after the latest installment in the series, where you can only melee attack with a dedicated melee weapon only, like with a knife.

This might feel like a new change but this change was disappointing to the OG Call of Duty fans. The major reason for this was the absence of the liberty of meleeing any enemy at any time.

In Black Ops 6, you will need to switch to your melee weapon first and only then you can melee your enemy. Unlike in the previous Call of Duty titles, you could melee with any weapon in your hand at that pressure situation. Because of this new method in Black Ops 6, many players choke to the tense situation and eventually get killed.

It’s quite obvious because after the arrival of Omni-movement, the whole gameplay has become a lot faster, so every second matters now. Amidst this, switching from your primary or secondary weapon to your melee weapon then trying to melee with that is a tedious job for sure.

That’s where the new perk named Close Shave comes in. With this new perk, you can do melee attacks with any weapon you want, even with a freaking Launcher. All you need to do is to equip the Close Shave Perk in the Perk slot and equip Flyswatter in the Wildcard slot, and now you are good to go.

This will remove the melee weapon slot and will allow you to equip any weapon of your choice in that slot, here a Launcher, with which you can melee in the game. And the fun fact is that no matter which weapon is in your hand, if you try to attack with the weapon butt, your character will always melee attack with a Launcher. Just like the good ol’ days.
