NEW DELHI: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, arrived in Kashmir on Friday to meet those injured in the Pahalgam terror attack , a Congress leader confirmed. Gandhi is expected to visit the Army's Base Hospital in Badamibagh Cantonment to inquire about the condition of the victims of the attack on April 22, which claimed 26 lives, mostly tourists.
Several others were injured in the attack.
Gandhi is also slated to meet with various delegations, including those from the party as well as the trade and tourism sectors, the leader added.
The Leader of Opposition is likely to hold individual meetings with Jammu and Kashmir's Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Gandhi has arrived with a message of "healing the wounds" of the people, including Kashmiris, in the aftermath of the attack and its devastating consequences.
The Congress leader had cut short his visit to the United States to attend the crucial Congress Working Committee meeting called on Thursday in response to the attack. He also participated in an all-party meeting convened by the government to brief political parties about the horrific terror attack.
