The Royal Family will be out in force tomorrow, as . Events include a tea party at Buckingham Palace for war veterans and the usual pomp and pageantry with a military procession down the Mall and an appearance on the Palace balcony to watch a flypast.
The King and Queen will be joined by the usual contingent of senior royals, including the Prince and Princess of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Anne and Sir Tim Laurence. It's hoped that Kate and William's three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, will join their parents for the iconic balcony appearance - but Kensington Palace has yet to officially confirm their attendance.
The commemorations will be a unifying moment for Britain, as the country remembers the courage, sacrifice and resilience shown during one of our darkest hours.
It is hoped the country will come together to pay tribute to the wartime generation in what is likely to be the last major anniversary where Second World War veterans are able to attend.
Due to the significance of the event, Palace aides were keen to ensure that the Royal Family struck a fine balance between marking the occasion while making sure that it was the veterans who were front and centre. Discussions were held over whether a Balcony appearance would be appropriate, but on balance, it was felt it was right that the King and Queen should lead the nation for the poignant event.
Later in the week, the Queen will visit the iconic ceramic poppy display at the Tower of London and Thursday will see a special service at Westminster Abbey, followed by a star-studded concert at Horse Guards Parade.
Many will never forget the horrors of the Second World War and it is important that as a nation we come together to remember the bravery and sacrifices of so many for our freedom. The events of this week are an important part of ensuring that the legacy of the wartime generation is never forgotten.
A beaming Prince and Princess of Wales looked their best as they spent two days in the beautiful islands off the coast of Scotland. Their mini-tour to the Isle of Mull hit all the right notes, as they spent time greeting cheering locals and immersed themselves in nature.
Kate and William also celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary during their official visit to the Isle of Mull, staying at a self-catered cottage to support the tourism industry.
The royal couple looked relaxed and as in love as ever during their two-day trip, showcased by the sweet anniversary photo, which shows them with their arms around each other as they take in the spectacular island scenery.
Hopefully, it marks the start of more visits by the couple in the coming months.
While Prince Andrew remains frozen out, his ex-wife appears to be back in the fold.
On Wednesday evening she made a surprise appearance at Buckingham Palace at a reception celebrating cancer organisations.
Fergie, who rarely attends royal engagements since her divorce from the Duke in 1996, said that the King had "kindly invited" her as she heaped praise on her former brother-in-law for "revolutionising" the discussion around cancer.
The Duchess had breast cancer and skin cancer and has worked with the Teenage Cancer Trust for 35 years.

There seems to be another case of "recollections may vary" as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex appear to have interpreted the agreement over the use of their HRH titles differently from the Palace.
Meghan was accused of breaking the Megxit agreement when a picture emerged last week showing that she had used the title HRH on a card sent with a personal gift to a friend.
It appeared to contravene the agreement made with Buckingham Palace in January 2020 that the couple "will not use their titles as they are no longer working members of the Royal family". Harry and Meghan agreed not to use the titles out of respect for the monarchy, but it appears the Montecito pair had other ideas.
But sources close to the couple insist no rules have been broken as the title was used in a private capacity, and was not used in a commercial or public setting. The question remains however, why would Meghan want to use the HRH title when she clearly has so much disdain for the institution it represents?
