Meghan Markle had a three-word request when it came to a Invictus Games staff member addressing her. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex headed to Canada last February for the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025.
Last year, the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 had appointed Scott Moore as its new CEO to lead the delivery of the organisation's first-ever winter event. In the run-up to the event, Mr Moore spoke about meeting the couple, who stepped back from their working royal roles in 2020, and revealed that he had asked how to address them correctly. He previously told the Daily Mail that for the Duchess, a "Ma'am is fine". He was also told a simple "Sir" was fine to address the Duke of Sussex.

He told the outlet in February last year: "I did make sure to ask how I should be addressing them when they get here, and I was told the simple sir and ma'am is fine."
Male members of the Royal Family are usually greeted as "Your Royal Highness" before "Sir," while female members are addressed "You Royal Highness" in the first instance and then "Ma'am".
Harry and Meghan are no longer working members of the Firm.
They still retain their full royal titles, including their HRH styles; however, in mutual agreements with the royals, they have agreed not to use them for commercial gain since their departure.
It is not the first time reports regarding how Harry and Meghan want to be addressed have appeared.
Just a month before this year's Invictus Games, Vanity Fair posted a bombshell cover story with various allegations about the Sussex couple, including about how some of their former staff were asked to address them as sir or madan, despite them not being working royals.
The report claimed: "Some people familiar with the production of Archetypes and Harry's book tour said they were instructed to address the couple as sir or ma'am, though the request was dropped in one instance after the person pushed back. (Other people say they were encouraged by Harry and Meghan to call them by their first names.)"
