have sealed the transfer of Matheus Cunha from Wolves after agreeing to pay his whopping £62.5million release clause. Cunha marks the Red Devils' first signing in what promises to be an important summer window. He was spotted in Manchester this morning outside of the Lowry Hotel before jetting to South America to meet up with the Brazil squad.
Confirming the deal, United said in a statement: "Manchester United has reached agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers for the signing of Matheus Cunha. The Brazilian forward's signing is subject to visa and registration. The 26-year-old has 13 senior caps for Brazil, and, in his club career, has made 270 appearances and scored 72 goals in the English, Spanish, German and Swiss top flights.
"During two-and-a-half seasons at Wolves, Cunha has scored 33 goals in 92 appearances. Everyone at Manchester United looks forward to welcoming Matheus to Old Trafford."
Meanwhile, Wolves said: "Matheus Cunha has completed a permanent move to Manchester United for a club record fee following two-and-a-half years at Molineux.
"Everyone at Wolves would like to thank Matheus for his contributions in old gold and wish he and his family the best of luck for the future."
After United's lacklustre 15th position finish in the Premier League, manager Ruben Amorim is on a mission to sharpen his squad's cutting edge.

The Red Devils were one of the lowest-scoring teams in the division and newly-signed Cunha is set to take up a pivotal role as one of the No.10s in Amorim's 3-4-2-1 formation.
The former Atletico Madrid forward made a significant impact in Wolves' fight to avoid the drop to the Championship, netting 17 goals and providing six assists, which secured him Wolves' Players' Player of the Season accolade.
Cunha expressed his delight at sealing the move, praising his new boss Amorim and expressing confidence he will be a success at Old Trafford.
"Talking about him is easy, I think he's a great coach and I wish him nothing but the best," Cunha said to CNN Brasil. "I hope he conquers the world as he did Portugal. God willing, we'll always do our best to help."
The Brazilian international is scheduled to join the squad for the beginning of pre-season training in July, with his arrival already receiving the endorsement of United legend Gary Neville.
"Man United are desperate in that position," he declared on Sky Sports. "You think of what Manchester United are playing now, they've let Jadon Sancho go, they've let (Marcus) Rashford go, they've let Antony go, so three players who are natural players who travel with the ball.
"They need someone who can beat players, they need someone who's equally as good running through the middle with the ball and travelling with the ball, and go out wide and support the wing-back.
"So he's [Cunha] a type of player that you could see Manchester United being interested in, that would suit this system that Ruben Amorim wants to play."
