Four Manchester United players have been told there is no way back for them at the club ahead of a crucial summer transfer window. Ruben Amorim is primed to oversee an upheaval of the underperforming squad he inherited from Erik ten Hag, following a nightmare first season in charge.
United would be more obliged to trim their ranks if they fail to qualify for European football next season, slashing the wage bill and raising funds through player sales. But even with a Europa League triumph, sealing safe passage into the Champions League, Amorim will likely want to cash in on a quartet currently away on loan.
Tyrell Malacia, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Marcus Rashford are all expected to leave Old Trafford permanently in the summer.
PSV Eindhoven have an option to buy Malacia, as do Aston Villa with Rashford, which is worth £40million.
Meanwhile, even if Chelsea opt against paying their £25m obligation to buy Sancho, United will accept the £5m compensation fee and look to offload the winger elsewhere.
Antony has had contrasting fortunes at Real Betis, and his stocks are as high as they've been since he left Ajax for the Red Devils in an £86m move in 2022.
If Betis can't afford to keep the 25-year-old for another season, Antony could boost Amorim's transfer kitty by continuing his career at another club.

United legend Ryan Giggs believes there is no way back for any of the four players, regardless of whether they stay at their current loan clubs or not.
"I think that's down to Amorim," Giggs explained on the show.
"I think he's already made up his own mind, and it might have even been taken out of his own hands by the powers that be to bring money in to get his kind of player in.
"Marcus leaves a little bit of a sour taste, he is one of our own, he's come through, he's done so well when he was first in the team.
"But he didn't look happy, he looked under pressure and not enjoying his football. So for Marcus' sake, and you can see him enjoying his football now, I don't see a way back for any of them."
He added: "Marcus can play in any team. he has shown the quality he has got. For some reason, it just hasn't happened the last few years at United.
"When I was playing my best football, it was because I was free, I was expressing myself, enjoying myself.
"It didn't look like that when Marcus was here. He needs to find a place where he is loved and can reach the levels he is capable of."
