One question on The 1% Club sparked chaos on tonight's episode (May 10) as 12 players were instantly wiped out of the competition - but would you be able to get it right?

The show features questions and applies "logic, reasoning skills and common sense" as 100 contestants battle it out to make it to the end and answer a question only 1% of the country can. It sees players whittle down to the 1% question in a bid to win a huge cash prize. This week, fans online could not believe it when a tenth of the contestants were eliminated from the popular , hosted by , over an "easy" question.

The game was still in the early stages, on the 30% question, when it left members of the audience absolutely stumped. A picture of a calculator appeared on screen, with a zero, point, equals and plus signs all taking up the bottom row, while numbers filled the remaining rows.

The baffling question was: "What's the largest four-digit number you can type using just the number keys on the bottom two rows of this calculator without using the same number key twice?"

When the time was up, Lee revealed that a whopping 12 players had answered incorrectly, meaning that they were out of the game. The ITV host revealed the answer to be "3210".

Fans at home seemed to think that the question was fairly "easy" and could not believe that so many people had lost their place in the game.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), one asked: "How did 12 go out???? It's 3210 #the1percentclub." Another echoed: "Seriously, 12 out! #The1PercentClub."

One more quipped: "12 people? I'm amazed they managed to apply! #The1PercentClub." Someone else posted: "Am I just a clever bugger, or all the questions on #the1percentclub really easy tonight?"

"#The1PercentClub The calculator question seems suspiciously easy," penned one more while another added: "The questions are so easy this series. we need the standard of season 1 back, not this showbiz crap #The1PercentClub."
