Shoppers tapping into the current 1970s retro trend are adding an 'absolutely gorgeous' dress into their wardrobes after snapping it up for half price. Now on sale for £49.50 down from £99, Joanie's Pretty Woman Floral Print Bell Sleeve Maxi Dress comes in sizes 8 to 26 and is a firm favourite for fashion fans.
Part of fashion and textile designer Celia Birtwell's collection with Joanie, this was a winning factor for one shopper. They left a review that says: "As a huge fan of Celia's prints this dress is perfect. The quality of the material and the 1970s style give it that vintage vibe."
Speaking of the dress, Celia Birtwell said: "When I work, I usually am in a world of my own, just with music in the background. When I finished designing 'Pretty Woman' and was trying to find a suitable name, I realised that I had been listening to Roy Orbison and Pretty Woman, apart from being a great song, was also an ideal name for this print."
The dress boasts an unusual floral pattern, a long flowing skirt that skims the tummy and classic bell sleeves. Shoppers can amp up the 1970s feel by styling with boots, or give it more of a contemporary look with trainers or sandals.
The Joanie dress is practical as well as pretty, with side pockets and an elasticated belt giving comfort. A reviewer wrote: "Received this today and absolutely love it. The fabric feels good and it hangs beautifully, with the added bonus of pockets. I have a large bust and this fits perfectly with no gaping. Love it and can't wait to wear it to a family wedding at the end of September."

However, it isn't to everyone's taste and another person found it didn't suit them, commenting: "What looked so amazing on the lady in the photographs on Instagram just didn't work on yours truly. It was wearing me, rather than the other way around."
Shoppers wanting to browse elsewhere might be interested in the Boden Cecily Cotton Midi Dress. It's more expensive at £149 but the print is sensational and it's made from high quality 100% cotton.
For a cheaper alternative, this Laura Ashley Rust Brown Bubble Sleeve Lace Trim Mini Dress from Next is £36. The rust and white polka dots are charming, as are the pretty lace details.
Other customers have snapped up the Joanie dress after spotting it on a celebrity. One such person shared: "Beautiful dress in every respect. I was debating whether to purchase it and saw Gem Whelan wearing it on Instagram and it looked perfect on her. I'm not normally influenced by others but it made my mind up that I had to have it."
Shoppers can follow suit at the reduced price of £49.50 on the Joanie website.
