Mandala Murders Review: Vaani Kapoor's new mythological suspense thriller series 'Mandala Murders' is streaming on Netflix. In this film, the actress is playing the role of SP Ree Thomas, who tries to understand the mysterious world of 'yantra, energy and boon'. This series consists of 8 parts, each revealing a new secret in its own episode. This series is related to ritual murders, demon worship and a mythological cult. Its story begins in a village named Charandaspur, where old-time folklore, horrifying sacrificial practices, and intense police investigation are deeply intertwined. Before watching this series, know what this suspense thriller series 'Mandala Murders' is.
What is the story of the film ?
The story of this series begins in 1952 in Varun Van, Charandaspur, where a mysterious woman named Rukmini attempts to revive a deceased body. The woman believed that if she succeeded, the world could change. But in the middle of her ritual, some people from the village arrive and consider it black magic and try to stop her sadhana. Rukmini fails in 1952, but in 2025, her granddaughter sets out to complete this mission.
The police investigate
The story reveals that Rukmini belongs to a community called 'Ayastis' and is looking for a special yantra that can control the energy of the universe and revive their deity 'Yast'. This process is completed through human sacrifice and special rituals, which mention secret rituals. As the series of murders increases, SP Riya and Vikram Singh start investigating. Clues lead them to the Ayast community and their mysterious text.
How much impact does the series leave
The idea of 'Mandla Murders' is very good, but its story does not move forward with that much strength. The biggest issue with the series is its weak presentation. Its storytelling style is scattered, and the lack of depth is also clearly visible. It tries to say many things at once, but gets entangled in its own thoughts and becomes weak. The twists coming in it can be easily guessed.
How is the acting
The Mandla Murders series stars Vaani Kapoor, Vaibhav Raj Gupta, Surveen Chawla, Jameel Khan and Shreya Pilgaonkar. Vaani Kapoor appears in a new style in Mandla Murders, but her track seems a bit incomplete. There is balance in the emotional scenes, but the expressions are a bit weak. Surveen Chawla has played her character with understanding and balance. She has become a woman who knows how to mould the situation according to her. Vaibhav Raj Gupta has played his role honestly, but the real shine comes from Shreya Pilgaonkar's character. Her small but powerful role brings life to the story.
If you like mythological suspense thrillers, then you can watch 'Mandala Murders' this weekend.
