Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has extended warm greetings to the people of the state and the nation on the eve of India’s 79th Independence Day. Paying rich tributes to the brave freedom fighters, he said that India’s independence, achieved on 15 August 1947, was the result of their courage, sacrifice, and selfless dedication.
Nitish Kumar emphasized that the high ideals of the patriots continue to inspire generations. He appealed to citizens to uphold mutual brotherhood, harmony, goodwill, and tolerance, and to take a pledge to protect the unity and integrity of the country while working collectively for progress, prosperity, and national pride.
Greetings on Shri Krishna JanmashtamiThe Chief Minister also conveyed his wishes for the holy festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, describing it as a celebration of India’s cultural heritage and unity in diversity. He noted that every year, the Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Bhado marks the birth of Lord Krishna, celebrated with traditional customs and grandeur.
On this occasion, he urged people to imbibe Lord Krishna’s ideals and teachings of Karmayoga, and prayed for happiness, prosperity, and success for all. Nitish Kumar expressed confidence that the festival will strengthen social harmony, love, and enthusiasm, contributing to Bihar's journey towards becoming a happy and developed state.
Tribute on ChehlumOn Chehlum, CM Nitish Kumar paid homage to Hazrat Imam Hussain and the martyrs of Maidan-e-Karbala, calling their sacrifice immortal. He encouraged everyone to uphold justice, truth, and goodness against hatred, stating that doing so would be a true tribute to Imam Hussain and the Karbala martyrs.
He appealed to celebrate Chehlum in an atmosphere of peace, mutual brotherhood, and social harmony.
