Newsboy's horse racing tips for Thursday's five meetings, including Sandown NAP

The consistent work ethic of DILIGENT RESDEV (7.45, NAP) can be rewarded with victory at Sandown tonight.

Michael and David Easterby’s four-year-old has been a reliable performer all season and, though he has yet to win this year, he finished fifth in the Victoria Cup at Ascot and an excellent third in a hot York handicap last time. The selection won the Bronze Cup over 6f at Ayr last September but his best recent form has been over today’s 7f trip and if he can last home up Sandown’s stiff finish he could prove hard to beat.

In the evening’s previous race DANGERMAN (7.15, NB) should be all the rage now connections have settled on his preferred distance.

The Godolphin-owned gelding had been contesting races over 1m4f but on his return to 1m2f, and in first-time blinkers, he bolted in by three lengths over today’s course and distance.

Up only 4lb for the win over Bulletin who finished third at Goodwood last week, John and Thady Gosden retain the headgear and keep him to what he knows best. He is a confident pick under Robert Havlin.

At Nottingham, TRIPLE FORCE (3.50) can register his third win of the campaign for trainer Craig Lidster in the wake of a solid second at Redcar eight days ago.
