Is the body in the lake in Emmerdale Nate or Anthony? Double death 'exposed'

There was a death twist for some residents on on Friday night, as the discovery of a body in the lake sparked panic.

Chas and Cain Dingle were left stunned alongside Ruby and Caleb Miligan, when Cain's young son Kyle announced a body had just been pulled fro the lake by divers, with the police on the scene. Suspicions immediately arose that it had to be murdered Anthony Fox's body.

Ruby killed her vile dad months ago, after his sexual abuse towards her as a teenager which led to her falling pregnant with daughter Steph came to light. After an initial whodunnit, Ruby was revealed as the killer with Cain, Chas, Caleb, Aaron Dingle and John Sugden covering up the crime.

As Aaron and John set off on their honeymoon in the episode, they turned off their phones unaware of the horror about to hit their loved ones. Chas and the others were left reeling as Kyle revealed all about the body, and when he left Ruby told the others "it had to be Anthony" in the lake.

They suspected John had buried Anthony there after all, while they have absolutely no idea that Cain's son Nate Robinson is dead too. John killed him by accident in September and dumped his body in the stream, with it making its way to the lake.

So who is the body in the lake that is found by the police, Nate or Anthony? Is Anthony even in the lake amid speculation he might be alive, and does Nate finally get found?

No one even knows Nate is dead, but we can confirm this all changes next week. Nate is the body in the water, not Anthony, and it's Nate who has been pulled out by divers.

Next week this sad and shocking news is shared to Cain and his other relatives, but Anthony's murder could also be about to come to light in a brutal turn of events. Ruby obviously has no clue that Nate is dead, so she suspects it has to be her father they've found.

Ruby leaves husband Caleb a latter before sneaking off to the police station, ready to confess her crime and admit Anthony is dead. This could lead to a double death bombshell, as it would mean both Nate and Anthony's demises are confirmed to those in the village.

As Ruby speaks with the police ready to confess, she finally speaks out over the abuse she suffered by Anthony. She appears to tell them about Anthony's death, as a spoiler reveals she makes it very clear Caleb had nothing to do with Anthony’s disappearance.

Perhaps she doesn't actually get to the bit about his murder though, as the interview is interrupted by the arrival of a solicitor. Soon the police are questioning Caleb, so does Anthony's death come to light?

Meanwhile later next week, the body in the lake is officially identified as Nate. With this comes the confirmation that Nate, who has been AWOL for months, is dead.

His family believed he was in Shetland and then moved on, and that he's cut contact with all his family. But next week they will learn he never left the village, and his ex Tracy will be told he's been murdered.
