Godda Cyber Fraud: In Badhauna village of Godda district, thugs posed as bank employees and swindled Rs 93,600 from Suraj Raut. The police have registered a case and handed over the investigation to the cyber cell. People have been appealed to be cautious.
A shocking incident of cyber fraud has come to light from the district. The thugs called a young man posing as bank employees and siphoned off Rs 93,600 from the victim's account. The incident is from Badhauna village of Nagar police station area. The victim youth Suraj Raut received a call from an unknown number. The caller introduced himself as an employee of IndusInd Bank and said that Suraj had recently taken a loan from the bank, regarding which some important information is needed.
While talking about the loan, the thug asked Suraj for his bank account details. Thinking him to be a bank employee, Suraj shared his personal information. But when he checked his account after some time, he was shocked. Rs 93,600 had disappeared from the account.
… this is how the fraud happened
Suraj Raut told Local 18 that the caller was talking in such a professional manner that he did not have any doubt. He had no idea that this could be a fraud. The fraud said that he was talking to the bank and the loan verification was going on. As soon as I gave my information, within a short time messages started coming on the mobile that money had been deducted. When I went to the bank, I came to know that there is no such staff there.
Police engaged in investigation
After this, Suraj Raut reached the city police station and gave information about the whole matter in writing. The police have registered the case and the investigation has been handed over to the cyber cell. The city police station in-charge said that we have registered the case. Technical investigation is being done. And with the help of call details, bank transaction history, efforts are also being made to reach the accused. He has appealed to the general public not to share their personal details with anyone.
