Cricket Ireland's High Performance Director, Graeme West, supported Sergeant's decision. He said that the well-being of the players is a priority and added, "Freya has been a key member of the senior performance team for the past three years. She has been making significant contributions both on and off the field. Freya has been an integral part of the team."
He said, "Cricket Ireland will continue to support Freya. The Team Management Unit agrees that this is the best option for Freya. The health of the players is paramount to us and is placed above everything else."
