Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has issued a heatwave advisory following meteorological warnings of persistent high temperatures across multiple districts. The Relief and Health Departments have been directed to implement protective measures.
Key guidelines include staying hydrated, wearing light clothing and creating shaded rest areas for outdoor workers. The Health Department has identified critical symptoms like high fever (40°C+), dizziness and dry skin as requiring immediate medical attention.
A new 'Mitra System' mandates coworker monitoring at worksites, with first aid provisions for heatstroke cases. Industries have been instructed to insulate hot machinery and adjust work schedules to avoid peak heat hours. Posters detailing heat-related illness symptoms and prevention methods are being distributed statewide. Emergency services have been alerted, with ambulances (108) on standby for severe cases.
