Lucknow: The Sevamitra Portal, developed by Uttar Pradesh’s Employment Department, is reshaping access to domestic services while generating significant employment across the state. By digitally connecting citizens with skilled workers, the platform is delivering doorstep services such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical repairs, and air conditioning maintenance.
As of June 2025, the portal has facilitated 39,857 bookings, indicating a growing public shift towards digital service access. In parallel, the Sevamitra helpline (155330) has handled over 38.49 lakh calls, underscoring its extensive outreach and utility.
A total of 52,349 skilled workers—many of them with technical or vocational training—are now registered on the platform. These workers, spread across urban and semi-urban locations, have collectively earned over ₹27.5 lakh, which is directly transferred to their digital wallets. This model not only improves service delivery but also ensures financial transparency and timely payments.

Following service completion, users are prompted to rate their experience, helping maintain service quality and accountability.
Sevamitra’s growth is contributing to reduced migration from smaller towns, as workers find viable employment opportunities within their localities.
The government now plans to expand the platform further, integrating additional services and extending coverage to all districts and municipal areas. By combining digital access with job generation, Sevamitra is becoming a vital tool for enhancing both service availability and economic opportunity in Uttar Pradesh.
