New Delhi: Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi on Friday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is merely a show, claiming that the media has blown him out of proportion.
Speaking at Talkatora Stadium in Delhi, Gandhi asked the audience: "Rajneeti mein sabsi badi problem pata hai kya hoti hai?" Which roughly translates to, "Do you know what the biggest problem in politics is?" Someone from the audience responded: "Narendra Modi."
To this, Gandhi replied: "Narendra Modi koi badi problem nahi hai," which translates to, "Narendra Modi is not a big problem."
He smiled and added, "Apne apne sir pe chadha rakha hai, media walon ne iska gubara bana rakha hai," which translates to, "You’ve put him on a pedestal. The media has inflated his image like a balloon; he’s not really a problem."
"I hadn’t met him before. Now, having met him two or three times, I’ve realised he’s just a show," Gandhi added.
Rahu Gandhi was adressing a gathering of Congress workers during the OBC Bhaagidfari Nyay Sammelan held in the national capital.
