Mumbai: A bomb threat call received this afternoon regarding Train No. 11072 Ballia -LTT Kamayani Express caused a temporary disruption at Khandwa station, but was later confirmed to be a hoax.
According to officials, the alert was received from the GRP Control in Bhopal at 12:48 pm, prompting immediate action by the authorities. The train, which reached Khandwa station at 12:59 pm, was halted at Platform No. 5 and cordoned off for a comprehensive security check.
Personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), City Police, and a specialized Dog Squad swiftly conducted a thorough inspection of the train and its surroundings. The RPF Inspector , Khandwa , was present on-site to oversee the operation.
Following an exhaustive search, no suspicious objects were found, and the train was declared safe for departure. The Kamayani Express resumed its journey at 1:53 pm.
Authorities have placed the phone number used for the threat call under surveillance, and an investigation is underway to trace the caller. Railway officials praised the quick response and coordinated efforts of all security agencies including RPF and GRP, involved, ensuring passenger safety and minimal disruption to rail services.
