Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Kamla Nagar police have arrested four persons, including a minor, for the murder of 24-year-old Arjun, alias Lalu Yadav, a known criminal whose body was found dumped in a dam in Sehore district on Friday morning.
According to ACP Chandrashekhar Pandey, the accused have been identified as Shubham Nageshwar (prime accused), Pushpraj Sisodia, Sumit Vishwas, Vikas and a minor accomplice. While the minor did not take part in the murder or in disposing of the body, he was present at the scene during the incident.
Police have recovered the frying pan used to assault Arjun and the vehicle used to transport his body to Bilkisganj in Sehore, where it was eventually dumped.
Investigations revealed that Arjun himself had called Shubham and visited his café and hookah lounge at Nehru Nagar on the night of May 19. A heated argument erupted between the two, after which Shubham allegedly hit Arjun with a frying pan, then strangled him. The body was packed in a carton and taken to Bilkisganj, where it was thrown into a dam.
Tiff over sister
Police said Arjun was in a relationship with Shubham’s sister, which Shubham strongly opposed. Arjun, who had a criminal background, would often harass and threaten Shubham, including warnings to shut down his café.
On the night of the murder, Arjun allegedly passed lewd remarks regarding his relationship with Shubham’s sister, which enraged the latter and led to the fatal assault.
