BTS as Coachella 2026 headliners? Fans disapprove

Send Push

Coachella 2025 saw K-pop take centre stage, with performances from Enhypen, BLACKPINK’s Lisa and Jennie, and rising girl group XG turning heads across the desert. As K-pop continues to tighten its grip on the U.S. music scene, it’s likely that even more Korean acts will return next year. Amid the ongoing frenzy, some fans and media outlets have floated the idea of BTS debuting at Coachella, a stage they’ve never taken before, not only as performers but as headliners.

BTS as Coachella 2026 headliners?

Screen Rant recently named BTS as one of the artists they'd love to see headline Coachella 2026. But while the suggestion has sparked conversation, not all fans are on board. Their idea comes ahead of the highly anticipated reunion of the K-pop septet, including RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.

Why are fans against the idea of BTS headlining Coachella?

Many believe that for a group of BTS’s stature, who’ve already performed at the Grammys and sold out stadiums worldwide, headlining a festival, even one as iconic as Coachella, would feel like a 'downgrade.'

With BTS expected to reunite in less than two months, rumors of a massive world tour in 2026 have only added to the debate over what kind of stage truly suits the group’s next era.

Reacting to the report that Screen Rant named BTS as one of the artists that should headline Coachella, one user wrote, "Coachella feels like such a downgrade for them; tbh, they're too big for it now."

One user agreed with the user and wrote in the comments section, "Honestly, they need their own festival at this point, lol."

"I don't mind them performing at Coachella as long as they wanted to and were not pressured to do so. There are big artists performing there, so I guess there will be no problem. But what I am super sure of is that they will outperform everyone and break all records Coachella has," another user wrote, expressing confidence in the group's abilities.

Another user proposed an idea, writing, "The way I want them to have their own festival is by hosting all the musicians THEY like. It would be spectacular, like a journey through their minds. They could hold solo stages throughout the festival and close out with the group."

"I mean, it would be cool if they performed there, though, but yeah, I get the point; they should only perform in places that are worthy," one user mentioned.

 BTS set to reunite soon

The countdown has officially begun for BTS's reunion, as it's just weeks until the members wrap up their military service. With the group expected to come together by mid-June, excitement is building across the fandom worldwide.

From solo projects to brand endorsements, the members have kept busy during their time apart, but fans are now anticipating what’s next for BTS as a group. Rumors of a 2026 world tour and possible new album have only fueled the hype.
