PhonePe: PhonePe's new feature UPI Circle launched, you can make UPI payment even without a bank account, know how to use it..

A new feature called UPI Circle has been launched in PhonePe, which will benefit crores of users.

What is UPI Circle?

PhonePe launched a new feature called UPI Circle on its app on April 15, 2025. This feature allows users to create a kind of loop i.e. circle and make payments on behalf of their family, friends, or trusted people. With the help of this feature, now you will be able to easily manage payments for your family or friends from anywhere.

You will be able to make UPI payments even without a bank account.
The special thing is that dependent members i.e. family members or friends will be able to generate their UPI ID even without a bank account. This new feature of PhonePe is going to be very helpful, especially for those who do not have a bank account or who do not use online banking. Those friends or family members of such users who use UPI will be able to make payments for them.

How does UPI Circle work?

According to the press release of April 15, 2025, with the help of the UPI Circle feature on PhonePe, a UPI account holder (primary user) can add his family/friends (secondary user) to his circle using UPI ID or QR code and can easily make payments for them from anywhere. The primary user will have complete control over this circle. That is, he can approve or reject payment requests, track the expenses of secondary users, check payment history, and remove anyone from the circle at any time.

How to use UPI Circle?

To use the UPI Circle feature on PhonePe, you can follow the steps given below:

Step 1: To use this feature, first open the PhonePe App.

Step 2: On scrolling down on the home screen, you will see the option of UPI Circle.

Step 3: Now after clicking on the UPI Circle option, you can add secondary users i.e. your close friends and family members to your account.

Step 4: To link secondary users, scan their QR code or manually enter their UPI ID and tap on 'Invite Secondary Contact'

Step 5: Secondary users will now have to accept the invite received on their PhonePe app, after which they will join the UPI circle.

Step 6: After joining the UPI circle, secondary users can select the primary user's account as a payment option to start the payment.

Allows to set daily transaction limit
This feature called UPI Circle allows the primary user to set a daily transaction limit of up to Rs 15,000. In which the maximum limit of each transaction is Rs 5,000. Five people can be authorized to make payments under the control of the primary user.

Now making digital payments has become even easier
Sonika Chandra, Chief Business Officer of Consumer Payments at PhonePe, says that UPI Circle is an important step towards increasing the convenience of digital payments for those who do not have a bank account or who are learning to make digital payments. He said that the purpose of introducing UPI Circle is to make digital payments easy for everyone.
