Dearness allowance: There is relief news for more than 1 crore central employees and pensioners. The central government is going to increase their DA and DR (DA/DR hike) once again.
The earlier DA hike of 2 percent (DA hike 2025) is being said to be less, but this time the employees will get a strong increase in DA. Inflation-related data has also come to revise DA. Know in the news how much DA will increase this time.
This has been the AICPI figure till March -
The data of AICPI-IW i.e. Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers has been released in March 2025. In this, the index has increased by 0.2 points and it has become 143.0. This figure is less than the January figure of 143.2 but is showing more increase than the declining figure from November 2024 to February 2025. Due to this, employees are expecting more increases in DA (DA update news).
DA Calculation Formula-
DA increase is done according to a special formula (DA Calculation Formula) given inflation. The 7th Pay Commission had suggested this formula of DA calculation in its recommendations. This time a new formula for DA calculation can also be suggested in the new pay commission.
According to the recent pay commission formula, DA is calculated on the average basis of AICPI-IW data of the last 12 months, which is like this-
DA (%) = [(12 month CPI-IW average) – 261.42] ÷ 261.42 × 100.
DA hike will be announced on this day-
At present, central employees are getting 55 percent DA (DA in July 2025). There is a possibility that it may increase to 57 or 58 percent before the new pay commission. So far, only the figures of AICPI till March have come, when these figures for the next three months will come, then the next DA hike (DA hike news) will be known correctly. The government will revise the DA by taking out the average of 12 months. These figures can come by August and by October the government can announce the DA hike.
DA will increase by this much percentage -
Central employees and pensioners (govt employees pensioner's news) are expecting that this time there will be an increase of 3 percent in the DA hike from July to December. This will also affect the salary of the employees and the pension of the pensioners (salary and pension hike).
By the way, till now the figure of AICPI-IW has been low, given this the DA hike can also be less. Let us tell you that this is considered to be the last DA hike of the 7th Pay Commission. Because after this the 8th Pay Commission can be implemented.
The new Pay Commission will be implemented on this day-
The 7th Pay Commission was implemented on 1 January 2016, the government implemented the new pay commission (new pay commission update) after 10 years. Therefore, the time of the 7th Pay Commission is ending by 31 December 2025. After this, the new pay commission can be implemented anytime but it will be effective from 1 January 2026. However, in all these matters related to the employees, the government (govt update on 8th CPC) will take the final decision, no official statement has come yet on this. DA will be merged into the basic salary-
At present, there are also discussions that the 8th Pay Commission will be implemented from January 1, 2026. Due to this, this may be the last DA increase under the 7th Pay Commission. In the new pay commission, DA can also be merged into the basic salary. After this, it will start again from zero. DA hike (dearness allowance hike) is done twice a year by the government. The first DA hike is from January to June and the second DA hike is from July to December.
