Bihar Range Officer Recruitment 2025: There is good news for the youth looking for a government job in Bihar. Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) has issued a notification for recruitment to 24 vacant posts of Forest Range Officer under the Department of Environment, Forest and Climate Change of the State Government. The application process started on 1 May 2025 and the last date of application has been fixed as 1 June 2025. The candidates selected under this recruitment will get a monthly salary of Rs 35,400 to Rs 1,12,400 under Pay Level-6.
Educational Qualification
Candidates applying for Bihar Forest Range Officer Recruitment 2025 must have a graduation degree from a recognized university by 1 January 2025. This degree can be in any one subject like Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics, Geology, Physics, Statistics or Zoology. In addition, candidates having a bachelor's degree in agriculture, forestry or engineering will also be considered eligible. The candidate's degree should be obtained from a recognized institution or university and equivalent qualifications will also be valid.
Age Limit
The age of the candidates applying for Bihar Range Officer Recruitment 2025 will be calculated based on 1 January 2025. The age limit for male candidates of the general category has been fixed from 21 to 37 years, while the maximum age for female candidates of the general category can be up to 40 years. Apart from this, the age limit for candidates belonging to backward class, extremely backward class, and third gender (whether male or female) should be between 21 to 40 years. Age relaxation can also be given to reserved categories as per rules.
Physical Test
It is mandatory to pass the physical standards and walking test in Bihar Range Officer Recruitment. The height for male candidates has been fixed at 163 cm for general, backward class (OBC), and scheduled caste (SC) and 152.5 cm for scheduled tribe (ST). They will have to cover a distance of 25 km on foot, which must be completed within 4 hours. Whereas, for female candidates, the minimum height should be 150 cm in all categories and they will have to cover a distance of 14 km on foot in 4 hours. If a candidate takes more time than the prescribed time limit, he will be disqualified.
Salary and selection process
The selected candidates will get a salary of Rs 35400 to Rs 112400 per month as per pay level 6. Candidates will be selected based on written examination, interview, and physical. There will be two question papers in the written examination. The first question paper will be of General Hindi of 100 marks of 50 multiple choice questions, in which it will be mandatory to get a minimum qualifying mark of 30 marks. The duration of the exam for the General Hindi paper will be one hour, 02 marks will be given for each correct answer and 0.2 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
The second question paper will be of General Studies which will have a total of 100 multiple choice questions related to general knowledge and current issues, general science, civics, Indian history, Indian geography, mathematics and mental ability test, the total marks for which will be 300 and the duration of the exam will be two hours. 03 marks will be given for each correct answer and 0.3 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
